How To Avoid Jamming During Cable Granulator Machine Operation

I. Control Feeding Rhythm and Maintain Uniform Feeding

Avoid feeding too many wires at once or feeding thick, stiff cables in one go. It is recommended to feed every 20 seconds to maintain a continuous and stable feed rate.

Excessive feeding speed can overload the crushing chamber, causing the machine to stall or the motor to overload.

II. Proper Raw Material Pre-treatment
Cut waste wires into 1-1.5 meter segments to facilitate smooth feeding.

Remove metal foreign objects (such as nails, screws, stones, etc.), as these hard objects can easily jam the cutter shaft or damage the blades.

For hard materials such as thick cables, armored wires, and high-voltage wires, pre-treat them using a shredder to tear and flatten them before feeding them into the copper granulator.

III. Regularly Inspect and Maintain Key Components

Blade Condition: Sharpen the blades every 150 hours of operation and replace them every 500 hours (SKD-11 alloy blades are recommended). Worn or broken blades will reduce cutting efficiency and increase the risk of jamming.

Belt Tension: A loose belt will cause slippage and abnormal noise, accompanied by a burnt rubber smell. Adjust the tension promptly.

Screen Cleaning: Regularly remove any blockages from the screen mesh to prevent material buildup and backflow into the crushing chamber.

IV. Standardized Start-up and Shutdown Procedures: Run the machine idle for 2-3 minutes before starting to ensure the main shaft rotates freely without jamming.

After each day's operation, continue running the machine idle for 2-3 minutes to discharge any remaining material before shutting it down to prevent residue buildup and startup difficulties the next day.

V. Real-Time Monitoring of Operating Status: Listen carefully for abnormal sounds (such as metallic clanging or friction sounds). If any are detected, stop the machine immediately for inspection.

If jamming occurs, first disconnect the power, manually reverse the machine, or disassemble and clean the crushing chamber. Forcibly starting the equipment is strictly prohibited.
