1. Raw Material Preparation: Pre-treat the copper raw material, such as crushing and screening, to ensure the particle size meets granulation requirements.
If it is an oxide copper ore, the ore needs to be finely crushed to below 6mm; if it contains a lot of clay (>8%), cement or lime needs to be added as a binder.
2. Mixing: Add copper powder or ore and additives (such as water, leaching solution, binder) in proportion to a twin-shaft mixer or horizontal mixer and mix evenly.
Control the humidity and composition consistency during mixing to ensure the subsequent granulation effect.
3. Granulation: The mixed material is fed into the granulation equipment, where it is mechanically formed into granules. Common methods include:
Drum granulation: The material rolls into balls inside a rotating drum, and humidification by spray promotes particle growth.
Dry roller pressing granulation: Dry powder material is extruded into flakes by rollers and then crushed into granules; suitable for materials with low moisture content.
4. Vacuum Melting and Granulation: Copper material is melted in a vacuum environment and then directly granulated into metal particles through a die-cutting system, avoiding oxidation.
5. Drying and Cooling: Particles granulated by wet granulation need to be dried to remove moisture and prevent clumping.
All particles must be cooled after forming to prevent deformation or performance degradation caused by high temperatures.
6. Screening and Circulation: Particles are classified through a screen. Qualified particles are output, while excessively fine or unformed materials are returned to the system for regranulation, achieving a closed-loop circulation and improving raw material utilization.
