Copper Cable Wire Granulator Machine is a production line that shreds or pulverizes waste wire and cable into particles and then separates copper or aluminum from plastic. The production line is mainly composed of a belt conveyor, a shredder, a crusher, an air separator, an electronic separator, an automatic dust collector, etc. Depending on the type of waste wire and cable, the machine configuration can be adjusted to obtain the best separation rate.
Work process
1. Chopped/Crushed
For this cable granulator, waste wires and cables first need to be chopped or pulverized into granules, and then separated. If the scrap cable is thick and contains strip steel, and the processing capacity is higher than 500kg/h, it is usually necessary to use a shredder for pre-cutting. If the processing mainly involves thin wires and the processing capacity is less than 500kg/h, the shredder is not required.
2. Iron removal
If the scrap wire and cable are mixed with steel or iron, it is better to remove the steel or iron before crushing, to prevent the crusher blade from being easily broken by the steel. For iron removal, an automatic magnetic separator can be used.
3. Air separation/Electrostatic separation
Air separation is accomplished by the air separator using the principle of density separation. Usually, due to the large difference in density between metal and plastic, it is easier to separate them with an air separator. But if there are aluminum wires and cables, or copper wires are thin like a hair, it will reduce the density difference between metal and plastic so that high separation rates cannot be guaranteed. In this way, secondary electrostatic separation is required to reduce metal loss and improve the separation rate.
4. Dusting
Since waste wires and cables are mainly dirty, in the process of shredding, crushing, and separation, a dust removal system is usually required to avoid dust flying and keep the working environment clean
