I. Belt Replacement for a Dry Cable Granulator Machine
1. Shutdown Preparation
Disconnect the power supply and release any residual kinetic energy from the machine. Remove the protective cover and side covers (typically, 7-9 fixing screws need to be removed).
Use a tension meter to check the slack of the old belt and record the initial tension (50-70 N/mm² is recommended for industrial-grade equipment).
2. Removing the Old Belt
Loosen the motor base bolts and move the motor to loosen the belt. Avoid using tools to pry and cause deformation.
Inspect the pulleys for wear. If the groove depth exceeds 1.5mm, replace them simultaneously.
3. Installing the New Belt
Slide the new belt over the driving and driven pulleys. Tighten the bolts diagonally, ensuring the pulleys are aligned (error ≤ 0.2mm).
Adjust the tension: Press the center of the belt until it deflects 1-1.5cm. Industrial equipment requires calibration with a tension meter. II. Special Treatments for Wet-Type Cable Granulator Machines
1. Rust Prevention Measures
Before replacement, clean any residual copper powder from the water circulation system and apply anti-rust grease (such as molybdenum disulfide) to the pulleys.
Because moisture can easily cause belt expansion, allow a 5% shrinkage margin during installation.
2. Sealing Inspection
After replacement, test the watertightness to ensure the shaker filter is leak-free to prevent secondary contamination.
3. Test and Acceptance
Run the machine at no load for 5 minutes and observe whether the belt is skewing or making unusual noises (abnormal vibration requires immediate shutdown).
Run the machine at full load for 24 hours, monitoring the bearing temperature (normally ≤ 65°C) and the belt tension decay rate.
Notes:
Multiple drive belts should be replaced as a whole to avoid mixing old and new belts, which can lead to uneven load distribution.
For wet-type equipment, it is recommended to inspect the belts for aging every 3 months, and for dry-type equipment, re-tighten them every 6 months.
