What Are The Safe Operating Procedures When Using A Wire Stripper?
Dec 01, 2025
I. Pre-operation Preparation and Inspection
1. Personnel Qualification and Status: Operators must be professionally trained and certified. Operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs that impair judgment is strictly prohibited.
2. Personal Protective Equipment: Protective glasses, cut-resistant gloves, a work cap, and tight-fitting work clothes must be worn. Long hair must be tucked into the cap. Scarves, ties, and other accessories that can easily get caught in the hair are prohibited.
3. Equipment Inspection: Check the power cord, grounding protection, and air supply lines for integrity.
Confirm that the wire stripping blades are free of cracks or excessive wear, and that the wire feed rollers and other transmission components move freely without jamming.
Test the emergency stop button, safety doors, and other safety devices for proper function.
4. Working Environment: Clear debris from the area around the equipment, ensuring unobstructed passage and sufficient lighting.
II. Safety Requirements During Operation
1. Start-up and Parameter Setting: Start the equipment according to the instruction manual sequence (air supply first, then power supply).
1. Set stripping length, blade depth, and other parameters according to wire specifications. A trial stripping test is required for the first processing to confirm quality.
2. Safety Distance and Protection: Keep hands away from moving parts during operation. Automatic operation is strictly prohibited if the safety net is not in place.
The machine must be stopped before modifying parameters. Adjusting the equipment while it is running is prohibited.
3. Abnormal Handling: If abnormal noises or parameters are detected, immediately disconnect the power and contact a professional for repair.
III. Equipment Maintenance and Emergency Handling:
1. Daily Maintenance: Disconnect the power after work, clean the equipment, and implement 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
2. Blade Replacement: Power must be disconnected when replacing blades to prevent springs from flying out. Install the new blade with the grooved side facing inwards.
Emergency Measures: In case of hand injury, immediately stop the machine and treat the wound to prevent infection.
Do not disassemble the equipment yourself if it malfunctions; report it to a professional for handling.
