How To Safely Operate A Copper Granulator Machine

1. Personal Protective Equipment Preparation

Operators must wear anti-static work clothes, conductive shoes, dust masks, safety glasses, and heat-resistant gloves. Long hair must be completely covered to prevent it from being caught in the equipment or inhaling dust.

It is strictly forbidden to bring mobile phones, lighters, or other sources of ignition, or non-explosion-proof electronic devices into the work area.

2. Pre-Start Safety Checks

Check that the machine's foundation bolts are tight and that the grounding wire is intact to prevent leakage or static electricity buildup.

Ensure that the feeding hopper is free of foreign objects, especially hard impurities such as iron, to prevent damage to the screw or the generation of sparks.

Check that the thermocouples and cooling water system are functioning properly. Material should only be fed after the barrel and die head temperatures have reached the set values; cold starts are strictly prohibited.

3. Safety Monitoring During Operation

When starting, run the machine at a low speed, gradually increasing to 300 rpm. Control the main unit current to around 50A to avoid overloading and causing the motor to overheat or burn out. Observe the temperature and pressure gauges in real time; immediately stop the machine for repair if any abnormalities are found.

If bridging occurs (material blockage), gently tap the hopper with a rubber mallet or stir with a copper bar; never use iron tools.

4. Shutdown and Cleaning Safety

Before shutting down, disconnect the material supply and allow it to drain completely before turning off the main unit and auxiliary systems.

When cleaning the machine head and die opening, use non-sparking tools such as copper shovels and copper brushes to prevent friction from causing combustion or explosion.

When replacing the filter screen, ensure the equipment is completely powered off; allow high-temperature components to cool down before operation.
