Copper Granulator Operation Precautions

May 08, 2026

I. Pre-start Preparation

1. Check Equipment Status
Ensure connecting bolts are tight, belt tension is appropriate, power lines are free from aging or damage, and the main shaft rotates freely without jamming.

2. Cleaning and Protection
Remove residual material from the crushing chamber to prevent jamming during startup; operators must wear safety goggles, earplugs, and dust masks to avoid injury from flying debris, noise, and dust.

3. Raw Material Pretreatment
Cut the power cord into 1-1.5 meter sections and remove any metal foreign objects to prevent clogging or damage to the blades.

II. Key Points During Operation

1. Uniform Feeding
Control the feeding speed to avoid sudden increases or decreases that could cause stalling or uneven output. It is recommended to feed at least 3 times per minute, maintaining a continuous and stable feeding frequency.

2. Idle Start-up and Shutdown
Before starting, let the equipment idle for 2-3 minutes to check the rotor rotation direction and sound for normal operation; after daily operations, continue idling for 2-3 minutes to discharge residual material before shutting down.

3. Real-time Monitoring
Pay attention to abnormal vibrations, noise, or bearing overheating. If spray material overflows or the machine temperature is too high, stop the machine immediately for troubleshooting.

III. Maintenance and Care Standards

1. Regular Lubrication and Cleaning
Sharpen the blades every 150 hours of operation and replace them every 500 hours (SKD-11 alloy blades are recommended); clean the screen and dust collector daily to prevent clogging that could affect sorting accuracy.

2. Oil Change
Change the oil after 300 hours of cumulative operation. Remove the belt when the machine is not in use for an extended period to prevent aging.

3. Rapid Fault Response

Jaw Jam: Check if the feed is too forceful, if the belt is loose, or if the blades are worn.

Incomplete Sorting: Adjust the damper speed and static voltage, or check if the screen is damaged.

Excessive Noise: Check the gap between the moving and fixed blades (recommended to be maintained at 0.5–0.78mm) or if hard objects have entered the machine.

IV. Safety and Management Recommendations

1. Continuous operation per shift should not exceed 10 hours. When operating on a two-shift system, a 1-2 hour downtime should be used for maintenance.

2. Unauthorized disassembly of the equipment is strictly prohibited. Maintenance tools must not be left inside the machine.

It is recommended to have a standard operating team of 2 people: 1 person to operate and monitor parameters, and 1 person to assist with feeding and collecting finished products; when handling ultra-fine wire diameters (<0.5mm), an additional sorting worker can be added.

✅ Tip: Good operating habits can extend the equipment life by more than 30% while ensuring that the copper granule purity remains stable at ≥99.5%.
