What Is The Working Process Of A Cable Granulator Machine?

May 06, 2026

1. Crushing Process: Waste wires are first fed into a crusher, where high-speed rotating blades shred the wires into small segments, initially separating the copper core from the plastic sheath. This step typically includes two stages: coarse crushing and fine crushing, ensuring uniform particle size for subsequent sorting.

2. Pneumatic/Airflow Separation (Dry): The crushed mixture enters an airflow separator. Utilizing the high density of copper particles and the lightness of plastic, under the influence of airflow, the copper particles sink and are guided out through the copper outlet, while the plastic is blown away by the airflow and flows towards the discharge outlet. This process involves no water, making it environmentally friendly and energy-saving.

3. Electrostatic Separation (Optional Fine Separation): For materials with many impurities or fine particles, a high-voltage electrostatic separator can be added. Based on the difference in conductivity between copper and plastic, the separation purity is further improved, allowing the copper granules to reach a purity of over 99%, effectively reducing the amount of residual copper in the plastic.

4. Dust Removal and Purification: The entire processing is equipped with a pulse bag filter system to collect dust generated during crushing and sorting, preventing environmental pollution and protecting the health of operators.

5. Finished Product Collection: The separated copper granules are discharged directly and can be sold as high-value scrap copper; the plastic is collected as a renewable resource for reprocessing into plastic granules, achieving comprehensive resource utilization.

⚠️ Note: If a wet copper granulator is used, water is added after crushing, and water separation is performed using a gravity shaking table. Although the separation effect is better, wastewater is generated, requiring supporting wastewater treatment facilities; otherwise, secondary pollution may occur.
