How Long Does A Cable Granulator Machine Need To Be Operated Continuously Before Resting?
Sep 12, 2025
1. Dry-Type Cable Granulator Machine
It is recommended that the machine be operated continuously for no more than 8 hours. The machine should be stopped every 4 hours to check for tool wear (SKD-11 alloy cutters require sharpening every 150 hours). Bearing temperatures should be monitored during operation. If the temperature exceeds 80°C, the machine should be shut down immediately to cool.
2. Wet-Type Cable Granulator Machine
Due to the high load on the water circulation system, it is recommended that the machine be shut down for maintenance after 6 hours of operation, with a focus on inspecting the condition of the water pump and screen. Wet-type machines require particular attention to moisture control; the recommended moisture content of the material is ≤5%. 3. Special Operating Condition Adjustments
When processing high-hardness materials (such as thick cables), operating time should be shortened to 6 hours per shift, and motor temperature rise monitoring should be strengthened (forced cooling is required if the temperature exceeds 75°C).
For continuous production, a shift system can be adopted, with handover after 8 hours of operation. During handover, abnormal equipment vibrations, abnormal noises, and other abnormalities should be recorded.
4. Maintenance Schedule
Check tool tightness and screen blockage every 4 hours.
Clean screen residue and inspect the lubrication system every 8 hours.
Perform comprehensive lubrication maintenance every 24 hours (grease bearings and other transmission components).
5. Safety Precautions
Excessive operation exceeding 12 hours is prohibited. After prolonged inactivity, a 30-minute no-load test run is required for restarting.
Sudden shutdown may cause hardened material in the crushing chamber; therefore, the "idle run" principle should be followed.
